An essential-criterion analysis of the style of pedagogical communication of prospective music educators in the process of working with a choir

The article addresses the issue of shaping the style of pedagogical communication of future music teachers in the process of working with the choir. The application of generalization, systematization, and theoretical analysis methods allowed the author to systematize and generalize scientific research on the issues of pedagogical communication and the creative interaction of the conductor with the choir, analyze the specifics of working with the choir, and reveal the essence of the style of pedagogical communication. The article outlines the main tasks of choral conducting training of future music teachers in higher education institutions. Among these tasks, within the context of the conducted research, emphasis is placed on acquiring experience in pedagogical communication and the skills of artistic interpretation. In the author's understanding, "the style of pedagogical communication for future music teachers in the process of working with the choir" is a flexible system of ways of creative self-realization in vocal-choral activities. It is determined by the characteristic features of pedagogical thinking, culture, education, the peculiarities of personality behavior and is manifests as the individual uniqueness of one’s artistic and communicative activity, aimed at establishing creative interaction among participants, the result and indication of the effectiveness of which is a striking interpretation of an artistic image during a public performance of a musical work. The structure of this phenomenon consists of motivational-volitional, cognitive-worldview, communicative-creative components. According to the components, the criterion apparatus of the research were established. The criteria and indicators presented in the article make it possible to diagnose the level of formation of the pedagogical communication style of future music teachers in the process of working with a choir. This serves as a basis for developing and experimentally verifying the effectiveness of a methodology aimed at its improvement, which will be the focus of further research.
