The article reveals the peculiarities of the readiness of students of the faculties of arts to implement innovations from the standpoint of a transdisciplinary approach, which considers various characteristics of any process according to the principle of addition. This allows for the creation of a basis for professional training that ensures the formation of the competence of future music teachers in the field of innovative solutions to borderline tasks and knowledge of various disciplines. The transdisciplinary approach is considered in combination with system-holistic, individual-creative, and competence approaches. The implementation of a transdisciplinary approach in the system of art education contributes to the formation of a new type of thinking among students of arts faculties, the characteristic features of which are the creation of a single plane of heuristic, axiomatic agreement of scientific thinking in the study of art disciplines from different disciplinary spheres. Orientation towards a transdisciplinary approach is promising, as it implies a high degree of readiness of the future music teacher for innovative activities, which ensures the activation of their research into the uncertainties of the professional process.
