Abstract

The article investigates the information factor of socio-political processes in Ukraine. In particular, the functioning of electronic media in the information space of Ukraine is analyzed. The prevalence of mass communication in the information space is also investigated. A comparative analysis of narrative practices of electronic media and mass media is carried out. Particular attention is paid to the factor of interactivity of communication. It has been shown that electronic media use, for the most part, a monologous form of information submission. The monologous form of information submission is an objective factor in manipulating the mass consciousness. Mass communication, on the other hand, is based on the interactivity of information exchange. Attention is drawn to the phenomenon of "new folklore", the space of which is social networks. The following characteristics of this phenomenon are distinguished: myth-making, use of various stereotypes (gender, ethnic, regional, etc.). It is established that this phenomenon causes the primitivisation of discourse. At the same time, it is revealed that the discourse of social networks causes a radicalization of social and political ideas of its users. The current situation actualizes the issue of measures for the development of critical thinking.

The article also analyzes the official discourse of Ukraine – statements, addresses, speeches, etc. In particular, a number of official statements of the President of Ukraine are analyzed. It is revealed that they have: first, the silence of actual problems that exist in the Russian-Ukrainian relations; second, the deliberate simplification of the socio-political situation in Ukraine. The latter is interpreted at the level of everyday consciousness. Such features of official discourse contain internal contradictions. Because the official discourse is intended to clearly reflect the socio-political situation precisely in political and legal terms. But now the official discourse is creating vague ideas in the mass consciousness.
