This article explores the prevalence of participatory democracy tools in contemporary Ukraine as factors in the formation of a new national political culture. In the context of a full-scale war, these practices are becoming key safeguards against the unfolding crisis of legitimacy and radicalization of society. The author analyzes the readiness to introduce mechanisms such as peaceful demonstrations, petitions, public hearings, public consultations, and participatory budgets aimed at engaging citizens in the political process and strengthening trust in government institutions.
The war is forcing Ukrainian society to rethink the meaning of democracy and active participation of citizens in shaping public policy. The article is an attempt to answer the question of what needs to be done to make all the tools of participatory democracy work in post-war Ukraine. The author notes that without active involvement of citizens in the political process, it is impossible to achieve sustainable democratic development and stability in the country. The article emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach to reforming Ukraine's political system, which includes the introduction of participatory mechanisms, increased transparency and accountability of the authorities, and active involvement of citizens in the political process. This is the only way to ensure sustainable development and a democratic future for Ukraine.
