Ethnopolitics: Practical Knowledge for the Real World

Abstract

Knowledge about ethnicity served, and was often formed for the benefit of specific political interests, as part of political strategies, election programs and even wars. This, as the author notes, is their considerable value for study by modern political scientists. A review article is offered to the reader's attention, which is primarily based on the analysis of classical and modern scientific texts on the problems of ethnopolitics. The content analysis of individual political programs, resonant statements of opinion leaders, as well as academic studies helped to clarify the applied content of the issue. Turning to popular resources made it possible to draw some conclusions about common ideas and statements on the chosen topic, to open up additional educational opportunities in the relevant discipline. The problem is analyzed in three main directions: subjects/objects, values, tools. In the light of recent challenges, ethnopolitics is described in terms of its potential to solve real individual, group, national and international problems.

Many of the analyzed articles by modern authors on ethnopolitics are hotly debated, leaving more open questions than answers, while their analysis enriches the vocabulary of a modern researcher of ethnopolitical problems, and also opens up new directions for applied political analysis. Selective and normative disciplines for future political scientists in today's higher education can draw valuable material from such professional publications for critical analysis, further research, and professional growth.
