Characteristics of the integrative focus of higher music education in Great Britain

The article examines various aspects of higher music education in the UK in the context of an integrative orientation. They are manifested in the combination of educational systems and the integrated teaching of special subjects. Studying higher education in the UK, the author emphasizes its tendency to strengthen the social function, which is important for the development of English society. In this context, music education in the UK is considered within the socio-cultural environment and involves understanding music as a component of general culture. The article notes that professional music education is at a high level of development and is oriented towards the highest world standards. Its feature is that all universities of the country are united by a common state program and at the same time have a high level of autonomy in determining courses, programs and teaching methods. Based on the analysis of scientific literature, the author includes the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music, and the British and Irish Modern Music Institute among the best higher music educational institutions. The formation of professionals in these musical institutions is carried out on the basis of combining musical art with modern technologies, opening up new horizons for musicians-performers, composers and other figures of musical art.
