Abstract

The article explores the significance of Andriy Humenyuk’s stylistic system as a fundamental tool for the preservation and development of Ukrainian choreography in the context of globalization. The study emphasizes the importance of stylistic features as structural elements that define folk-stage choreography and determine the trajectories of its evolution. Special attention is paid to the richness of regional traditions and the diversity of stylistic approaches that have shaped Ukrainian choreographic culture over centuries, creating a multifaceted artistic phenomenon. The article analyzes Humenyuk’s scholarly contribution, in which he proposed a detailed stylistic classification of Ukrainian folk dances, thus laying the groundwork for modern systems of dance typology. The research highlights the dual processes of maintaining authenticity and adapting tradition to new cultural and social conditions, showing how folk dance can serve both as a marker of national identity and as a dynamic form open to transformation. The feasibility of integrating Humenyuk’s principles into contemporary educational and performance practices is also discussed. The authors argue that the stylistic system provides mechanisms for ensuring continuity of Ukrainian choreography, strengthening its cultural value, and enhancing its capacity for artistic self-representation on the global stage.
