The Formation of Piano Performance in thePodil Region

Abstract

The article is devoted to the history of Ukrainian culture, an important component of which is the piano performance of the Podolsk region. It is noted that its development was influenced by historical conditions, geographical location and political circumstances. It was revealed that at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, a national conservatory, a symphony orchestra, a philharmonic society, professional musical societies and unions functioned in Kamianets-Podilskyi. Pianists A. Kotsipinsky, V. Zaremba, V. Zentarsky, M. Zavadsky, T. Hanytskyi were actively engaged in composing and teaching. In Vinnytsia, the development of piano performance is associated with the opening of music classes, studios, schools, and a piano factory in the early 19th century. The most famous composers and piano teachers were I. Kozlovsky and T. Bezugliy. All of them received their education from leading European teachers (R. Zentarsky – student of J. Elsner, V. Zentarsky – student of S. Moniuszko, I. Kozlovsky – student of J. Field, T. Hanytsky – student of J. Dont). Their contribution to the development of piano art in the Podolsk region was noted. R. Zentarsky and V. Zentarsky – created a piano repertoire for home and salon music making and teaching; A. Kotsipinsky – founder of piano teaching and concert performance; V. Zaremba – founder of a new genre of piano fantasy on the theme of Ukrainian folk songs; M. Zavadsky – created original composer samples (dumky, shumky, chabarashky); I. Kozlovsky – founder of the Vinnytsia music school; T. Bezugliy; founder of piano professionalism, author of the first works on Shevchenko themes in Ukrainian piano music. The importance of using the works of these composers in the practice of training teachers of music art is emphasized.
