Folk-stage choreography development in the creative activity of V. Verkhovynets

The article reveals the peculiarities of the Ukrainian folk stage choreography professionalization dynamics in the context of the creative activity of Vasyl Verkhovynets. The process of separating folk dance into an individual stage genre and its further embodiment in the first national ballet has been shown. The multifaceted creative activity of V. Verkhovynets as the founder of the Ukrainian choreography theoretical principles and the creator of the theatrical song as a new stage genre has been highlighted. The importance of the artist’s innovative scientific works ("Ukrainian Wedding", "Ukrainian Dances", "Theory of Ukrainian Folk Dance", "Vesnyanochka") has been emphasized. The V. Verkhovynets’s practical choreographic work specifics in educational institutions and artistic groups have been determined.
