PECULIARITIES OF PSYCHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF SELF-IMAGE SELF- ASSESSMENT BY ADOLESCENTS IN MODERN CONDITIONS

The article highlights the impact of the military events on the process of self-assessment of adolescent self-image. The results of the study of self-esteem have revealed a significant concentration of the subjects on the reflective expectations of people who are significant for them. At the same time, qualitative indicators were represented by cognitive-reflective and emotional-evaluative components. To diagnose the conative-regulatory component, a scale with control statements that actualized the socially desirable behavioral patterns of adolescents was used in the pilot study. This made it possible to state the problematic categories of answers, the emotional valence of self-identity and the manifestation of socially desirable behavioral patterns in the process of adolescent self-assessment. The psychological analysis has shown that such categories as cognitive branching, cognitive limitation and problematic identity dominate mostly in the process of adolescent self-assessment. More than half of the respondents demonstrated a predominance of negative self-esteem, i.e., self-criticism and self-disdain, with one third of the respondents showing these indicators quite clearly. They do not accept themselves, consider themselves unsuccessful and inferior to other peers, and do not aim to display their strengths in the interpersonal interaction, specific activities or virtual contacts. These results indicate a specific impact of the military activity on the process of self-awareness formation, in particular, the self-image of adolescents. In general, the psychological analysis of adolescents' self-assessment of the “self” image in crisis life conditions made it possible to state and interpret new personal indicators of adolescents that are formed in the process of modern social life. This will further enable psychologists to reorient themselves in both educational and diagnostic, preventive and corrective activities with adolescent personality.
