Procedure for the retraction of published articles
The retraction of a published article is a mechanism for correcting published information and informing readers that the publication contains shortcomings or errors. The grounds for retraction are breaches of legal, publication and ethical standards.
The editorial board follows COPE’s recommendations regarding corrections and retractions of publications and adheres to the principles of academic integrity and responsibility towards readers. https://publicationethics.org/guidance/guideline/retraction-guidelines
Grounds for retracting an article may include:
· the detection of plagiarism in the article;
· duplication of the article in other publications;
· flawed arguments that negate the scientific value of the publication;
· the discovery of falsifications or fabrications in the text of the article;
· incorrect authorship;
· republication of the article without the author’s consent;
· significant scientific errors affecting the reliability of the results;
A retraction of an article can be initiated:
· at the official written request of the author (authors) of the article;
· at the official written request of the editorial board of another journal;
· at the written request of other persons (participants in the conflict of interest) in the presence of evidence of violations of scientific ethics by the author of the article;
· in case the editorial board of the journal reveals the facts of violation of scientific ethics by the author in the text of the article.
Procedure for retracting a scientific article:
The Editorial Board conducts a thorough analysis of the circumstances that became the basis for the revocation, including:
· verification of scientific data and sources; consultations with experts or reviewers;
· appeal to the authors to provide explanations and documentary evidence.
After evaluating all the materials, the editorial board makes one of the decisions:
· retraction of the article; correction of the article without retraction (corrective publication);
· refusal to withdraw if the grounds are not confirmed.
In case of recall, the journal publishes an official notice (retraction notice), which contains:
1. the title of the article and the names of the authors;
2. the reason for the recall; date of decision.
Information about the retracted texts is sent to scientometric databases and libraries in which the journal is placed.
After the decision on retraction is made, the article and its description remain on the publication's website.
The electronic version is signed "Retracted" and the date of the retraction is put. This is also indicated in the content of the issue.
